The Aurora Clinic and the Aurora Surgery Center are pleased to provide endoscopy services at the Aurora Surgery Center. Dr. Mark Peterson, Dr. Matthew Viscito and Dr. Jerry Smith and the Aurora staff provide upper and lower endoscopy services (EGD and colonoscopy). The Aurora Surgery Center provides conscious sedation under the supervision of a Nurse Anesthetist. The Aurora Surgery Center offers outpatient surgery in a state-of-the-art facility with general operating and procedure rooms and a comfortable waiting area to accommodate friends and family.

- How can I make an appointment for Endoscopy at the Aurora Surgery Center?
Patients can be scheduled for endoscopy at Aurora by seeing their regular provider. A referral is necessary in order for patients to be scheduled for endoscopy. Your primary doctor will determine the endoscopy care that you need. Primary Care Physicians are doctors with practicing specialties of Family Practice, General Practice, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics and OB/GYN. If you don't have a primary doctor, the Aurora Clinic can schedule an appointment with one of their providers (701.732.2700). - What insurances are you a provider for?
Aurora Clinic and the Aurora Surgery Center are providers for Medicare, North Dakota and Minnesota Medicaid, North Dakota and Minnesota Blue Cross and Blue Shield, Blue Cross and Blue Shield from all states, Medica, Tricare, Preferred One, Health Partners and most other insurances.
We encourage all our patients to check with their insurance plans before their appointments to make sure the appropriate authorizations are in place. Your health insurance phone number is located on the back of your insurance card.
Preparing for your visit:
You will receive a reminder call several days before your scheduled procedure
Prior to your scheduled procedure, a staff will provide you with specific instructions on how to prepare for your upcoming procedure. If you have any questions concerning this preparation, please call Aurora Surgery Center at 701.732.2222.
Your procedure and subsequent recovery time takes approximately 1 1/2 - 2 hours. Our staff will do everything to make your stay as short as possible. Due to the sedation you will receive prior to the procedure, you will not be permitted to drive yourself home and you must make plans for someone to escort you home.
Should your insurance plan require you to have a referral, you are responsible for bringing one with you.
Rescheduling or Cancellations:
As a courtesy to other patients who need to schedule appointments and to the Aurora staff, we ask that you call 4 days in advance to reschedule or cancel your endoscopy appointment.
